Louis Vuttion runs an ad campaign for most of its classic monogrammed bags called "Core Values" It is much different than other flashy campaigns as it usually has the big names of Hollywood in a very down to earth and realistic way.Another common feature is that the amazing Annie Leibovitz shoots them.
Around the 13th of June, they released their latest 'Core Values' campaign with Angelina Jolie.
The 2011 'Core Values' campaign was shot in Cambodia, which is a really special place for Anjelina Jolie, which she first visited in 2000 for her role as Lara Croft and returned on humanitarian missions. She later on adopted her first child Maddox from an orphanage here.
But one thing that is a little off is that fact that the bag shown in the ad (Anjelinas`s own) - The Louis Vuitton ALTO is about six years old and is no longer available. I checked the site for it, as i wanted to see the price and it did not show up!
But rumours are since she loves this bag so much, Louis Vuitton might re-introduce it.
Pietro Beccari, LV's executive VP, says they're considering a "re-edit" of it.
She sits in a traditional wooden boat in the province of Siem Reap.
I read that four of her six children who came along to the set and had to be 'shooed' away by photographer Annie Leibovitz. :D
Another rumour is that she was paid around $10 Million for her time, it has however been confirmed that she has donated her fee to charity, most likely the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which the couple founded to aid community development and conservation in Cambodia.
I have to admit here that I am not a big ANGIE fan, nor am I on TEAM ANGIE..(Team JEN is more like it) but there is something about the ad (and possibly Annie Leibovitz `s photography) that is making me warm upto her. And maybe the Team Jen vs Angie thing is fading away.
Anyway, I really like the earthiness that comes through in this picture. Even though it was said that she wanted a no-make up look, a heavy smokey eye is visible. Maybe it was photo shopped later on, but either way it still looks subtle and light.
I love how the lush greenery of the background contrasts with the dullness of her clothes. It actually brings out the greenery strikingly. And her face is striking enough for itself.
