Summer Shades

Last year i was OBSESSED with these wayfarers from Rayban. Unlike the classic RB wayfarers, the eye piece was a little more deep, which is what I LOVED about them.
But after repeatedly calling my optician, and telling him to order a pair for me, I gave up.
Cos they would JUST not come.

Then one day while i was flipping through an issue of PEOPLE, I came across an ad for Vision Express. They were selling the latest styles of shades at SUCH a reasonable price, it was quite unbelievable. To make sure there wasn`t a catch to it, I looked up the number to a store near my house and called them up. Yep. They were selling these exact same wayfarers for Rs.399. ( The Rayban ones were for 8 grand btw )

I went straight to their shop and got them :)

I had also seen a beautiful pair of Cat Eye sunglasses there, exactly like the Tom Ford Nikita that Kourtney Kardashian wears ALL the time. I knew they`s be my next purchase!

BUT
I saw these at Forever 21 for I think Rs 350-399.
They`re not as exaggerated as the Nikita but Cat Eye none the less.

Also got these normal glasses for my not so good eyesight, from Vision Express. And the total with the lenses came to, I think Rs 600-700

(Before my significant other can point out to me-yes He did get these sort of glasses BEFORE me, and I did 'copy' him)

They look exactly like THIS, at the blog shop :D

Sadly I am not being sponsored by Vision Express, although I should be.
They have a large variety of shades and the prices are great. I have visited their site before and they have all the information on it, but for some days the site has been down. But if you search Vision Express in your locality, I am sure you will find one near by!

HERE are the search results for Delhi.

Going running at 6am :)

I’ve realized how important running is. My friend from work has been running everyday and eating what she wants, but choosing healthier foods and has been looking and feeling better than ever. (that’s not her though^ haha)

She has a healthy glow to her, her body is toning up in a beautiful healthy curvy way and she truly looks amazing.

Stay strong and push yourself to get off the sofa or out of bed and go running. You girls are all so beautiful and I want you to feel it too :)

To anybody out there on this weight loss journey I just want to reach out. I feel so alone, isolated, depressed, & distraught. I find myself crying almost every night now thinking all those years I messed up my journey. I’m now at the point where I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve restarted this journey over the last 5 years and have only managed to get bigger. I recently saw the guy I like at my cpr renewal course & when I got home I couldn’t help but break down and cry about how hopeless my chances are. He only knows a minute portion of just how much I adore him yet all my efforts so far have been unsuccessful. I feel as if every part of me is in pieces. Academically, emotionally, physically, socially….and not to talk of a nonexistent love life which has lasted over a year now. I deserve to be happy and confident. I need to prove that I can conquer my fears. I need this. I need him.

I am stronger than this shit. I will lose weight.

Pull yourself together girl, not again.

Yes, this weekend was shocking in terms of food. But starting right now I’m going to be back onto eating healthy and hitting the gym Monday to Friday. I was doing well, in a messed up kind of way, I don’t want to keep hovering around this weight, I still have so far to go.

Well everyone, it's summer!

Hey Ladies and Guys :]

As you know I am not the skinniest girl and I have been looking in buying something that I would be able to wear in the summer and keep cool that wouldn’t expose my fat thighs (they won’t be fat for very long mawhaha….) and I found MAXI SKIRTS.

Maxi Skirts are a nice trend for the summer because they are usually in light fabrics and in fun colors. I feel like they can go from day to night so I decided to do a fashion post on how I wear them.

…so….this is how I wear my maxi skirts. :]

Outfit 1

Top - J Brand - 29.99

Maxi Skirt - Ross - 9.99 (^_^ great price!)

Belt - Express - 2.99

Outfit 2

Top-Foreign Exchange -16.99?

Maxi Skirt - Ross - 9.99

Belt - Metro Park - 9.99

Thanks for stopping by.

How is everyone doing?  Have any of you reached your goal weights/ goal bodies yet?  I know i surely haven’t hahah.  Just because we’ve reached summer does.nt mean it’s time to quit though!!!   ESPECIALLY if your like me and have’t reached all of your goals yet.

Lets keep going!!

Make NEW goals!!!

Start out with smaller ones that will be easier to achieve. Things like , Eat a healthy breakfast everyday , or Consume less calories than you burn in a day , or lose one pound in a week!

Simple things so that when you reach them you will feel that much more motivated to keep going!

I was pretty upset when I realized i wasn’t going to have  my hot, sexy , summer body that i planned on having but that is NOT going to stop me!  And it shouldn’t stop you either!

Let’s (continue to) do this!!!!

;D

Trend Report 2011

[ Before I start I would lke to say I freaking HATE formatting in blogger. I am re-writting this whole thing because as I was trying to align some pictures, which is a bitch to do, all my text got deleted! ]

So after much research (!!) I have zeroed in on SIX trends that have dominated the runways for Spring/Summer 2011. Some I think are great and am really looking forward to and some are a little off, specially cos I don`t think they will translate in the Indian market.

I would like to say that there is no point in following trends blindly. However it`s nice to see things you would`nt have thought of and get inspired by them. For me once I try something I like it doesnt matter if t isnt still in vogue. I rarely try something which is ON trend and is OUTRAGEOUS!

I am going to divide this into two parts. Talk about the trends in one and in another post put some looks together according to the trend.

COLOUR BLOCKING

Jil Sander, Proenza Schouler, Prabal Gurung, Z Spoke

Peter Som, Karen Walker, Christopher Kane, Rachel Roy.

As Indians we are no strangers of putting JHATAK colours together so I think this will translate really well in the Indian Market. I am looking forward to this cos  I.LOVE.COLOUR

I recently saw Band Baja Baraat and all of Anukhka Sharma`s outfits were about colour blocking. Colour Blocking is just a sophisticated term or Shaadi Clothes in India : ) (specially for delhi-ites)
By the looks of it they were by Manish Malhotra. He does do the whole colour blocking thing well.

Since the ANARKALI trend has gripped the bollywood ladies by the throat, you can see colour blocking happening there as well.

How is any discussions on ANARKALIS complete without their BRAND AMBASSADOR MRS. Jr. Bachan.

Even though I really like the Anarkali I am so tired of someone wearing them everyday. I think the color blocking has reached its saturation point in Indian clothes even before the trend came down the runway in the west.

Now the B-town ladies need to try this out in their dresses etc. The younger actresses I think would ace this trend in western wear!

THAT 70`s SHOW

Marc by Marc Jacobs, Marc Jacobs, Derek Lam, and Tory Burch.

Even though I am addicted to my skinny jeans I am really liking these broad pants and jeans. I would love to see Malaika Arora Khan to ditch her gowns (which she rocks anyway) and wear something like the first three looks. I think it would be extremely flattering on her.

Pajama Party?

lounge wear-inspired trend at Karen Walker, Vena Cava, Thakoon, and Ralph Lauren.

Yeah, this one I am not too sure about.  I don`t really understand the concept, it`s not going to work with us Indians because of all the sheer fabrics involved. BUT I do like that jumpsuit by Ralph Lauren, extreme right.

Kim Kardashian wearing Pajamas ( by TOM FORD mind you ) on the cover of Glamour.

GOING LONG
Diane von Furstenberg, Jil Sander; Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein Collection.

Again A trend I am not too sure of. Maybe cos I particularly don`t like long skirts ( a story about that on part II of this post! ) but I have to admit I do like this on other people. I mean in pictures at least it does look nice. But I dunno how many of our celebs would like to experiment with this look.

 MINIMALISM
3.1 Philip Lim, Richard Chai Love, Yigal Azrouël, Rag & Bone.

Now I know THIS trend is not going to go down well with most Indian and our celebs. Minimalism is one gene that Indians DO not have.
I personally like this trend and the NUDES colours that come with it and would love to see some celebs try it.

PRINT ON PRINT

Burberry Prorsum, Stella McCartney, Proenza Schouler, Prada.

Another trend, us Indians can have fun with since this is also our favourite kind of JHATAK! Again I love this and cant wait to try it out! Another trend that would look quite nice on young bollywood.
In the next post I have lots of tips on how to wear prints on prints the right way!

An easy inspiration can be Blair on Gossip Girl

That concludes part I

Do tell me your take on these trends, which one you love, like and loathe : )
