Madonna warned a composer not to 'over think' the score for her movie W.E.
The singer has directed the film, which is about Britain's King Edward VIII love for US divorcee Wallis Simpson. He eventually abdicated the throne to be with her, something Madonna found fascinating.
Abel Korzeniowski from Poland created the music for the picture, and found working with the singer an enlightening experience.
He explained Madonna told him to 'not try to be talented,' although the star quickly interjected: 'No, I said: 'Don't over-think it.' I always wanted you to be talented.'
Abel added: ' found myself learning very interesting things [from Madonna] about music, which helped me in my classical thinking.'
Madonna's choice of music for the movie has been surprising. God Save the Queen by The Sex Pistols has made its way onto the soundtrack, a decision the 53-year-old has defended.
She believes it's the perfect track to sum up King Edward's personality.
"I thought he [King Edward VIII] was quite rebellious and cutting edge in his point of view about life and about how to run the empire and using the Sex Pistols was a perfect marriage,' she said at the Toronto International Film Festival yesterday, where it was screened.(Music-News.com)
