Taylor Swift is country – sort of – which has brought her a broad loyal audience.

Most seem comprised of young women – mothers and their daughters.

Swift upholds old values, is positive and upbeat.

Taylor Swift among nominated artists at the 45th Country Music Awards

CMA early nominations announced

Taylor Swift is among the artists nominated at the 45th annual Country Music Awards.

The early nominations are in for the coveted music event and the chart-topping songstress is among the recognized artists, alongside Keith Urban and Blake Shelton.

Nominees have been announced in five categories, including Entertainer of the Year, during today's Good Morning America broadcast.

Taylor will battle it out with Blake, Keith, Jason Aldean and Brad Paisley for the top Entertainer category. Brad walked away with the coveted gong at last year's awards.

Nominees for Vocal Duo of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Musical Event of the Year, Music Video of the Year and Musician of the Year, are yet to be released.

They will be announced at a press conference later today.

The Country Music Awards will air on ABC on November 9. It will be hosted for the fourth year in a row by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.Read more

Taylor Swift favours 'spontaneous' lyrics

Taylor Swift loves writing songs because it is so 'unpredictable'.

The talented country music star has enjoyed success around the world with her heartfelt lyrics. She is constantly inspired to pen new songs and says she can think up lyrics any time of the day.

' think for me it comes as a general idea. My favourite thing about song writing is that it is so spontaneous and unpredictable what's going to hit me first,' she explained in an interview with YouTube Presents. 'Like for example, when I wrote Love Story ' that was a song I wrote sitting on my bedroom floor because I liked a guy and my parents didn't want me to date him. So the idea came to me about Romeo and Juliet, Romeo throwing pebbles at my window. I didn't know where that was going to fit in the song, but I started with that and it just grew from there.'

The 21-year-old musician won four Grammy Awards for her second album Speak Now. She enjoys sharing experiences in her life and finds it easier to write lyrics which mean something to her.

't's crazy how the fastest songs that I have written end up being my favourites. The ones that just happen with a surge of inspiration,' she smiled. 't's usually something I am going through at the time, it's hard for me to come up with a random metaphor if I am not going through it. When I was growing up, my mom talked in metaphor a lot. So I grew up loving metaphor and loving how you can take something you are going through and speak about it in a different way.

'There are certain moments in a song where you go, 'Oooh, oooh' when you write a line because you are so excited. I won't finish a song unless I get that.'(MUSIC-NEWS.COM)

Jake Gyllenhaal's Exes Taylor Swift, Reese Witherspoon Bond Over Lunch

Days after returning home from her Hawaiian getaway, Reese Witherspoon had her first A-list outing with none other than country superstar Taylor Swift.

The two blondes bonded over lunch at Boa Steakhouse in Beverly Hills Friday. After the meal, Witherspoon, 35, even gave 21-year-old Swift a lift home. (See the pictures at Just Jared.)

The women -- who have both dated actor Jake Gyllenhaal -- first got chummy at the Academy of Country Music Awards in April.

Witherspoon isn't the only big star Swift has spent time with this week. Justin Bieber, 17, surprised the singer on stage at the Staples Center in L.A. Tuesday night, where the two performed a cover of his hit song "Baby." On Thursday, singer-songwriter Jason Mraz, 34, joined Swift for a rendition of "I'm Yours" at the same venue.

Taylor Swift helping out Selena Gomez

The two stars are close friends and Selena - who is dating teenage singing sensation Justin Bieber - knows she can always turn to the 'Love Story' hitmaker when she needs advice.

Selena said: "Every problem I ever have is healable by Taylor Swift.

"What I love about Taylor is she believes in the whole love story - Prince Charming, soul mates. Because of her, I haven't lost faith."

Selena also tries to be a supportive friend to Taylor, and revealed she helped the 21-year-old beauty through her 2008 split from Joe Jonas.
