Reese Witherspoon is back on her feet just two days after she was hospitalized for minor injuries following a car accident.

The Legally Blonde star was hit by an elderly driver as she was out jogging in Santa Monica on Wednesday (07Sep11).

But she reassured fans she was fine when she stepped out with new husband Jim Toth on Friday (09Sep11).

Wearing an all-black work-out outfit, the actress was all smiles as shetold photographers she was fine.

The Oscar winner has declined to press charges against the 84-year-old driver who accidentally hit her, but the woman has been cited for failingto yield to a pedestrian on a crosswalk.

Reese Witherspoon Not Pressing Charges Against Driver Who Hit Her

Following her run-in with a car earlier this week, Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon will not press charges against the elderly woman who hit her, according to Usmagazine.com.

A source said Witherspoon has no plans to press charges against the 84-year-old who struck the actress with her car while she was jogging in Santa Monica. The driver failed to yield to a pedestrian sign. "The incident is being treated as an accident," the source adds. "The driver was not given an alcohol test at the accident scene and typically she would receive a fine and a point on her driving license as it is considered a moving violation."

A rep for the actress added that she was "not seriously injured and is resting comfortably at home."

In a previous report, Santa Monica Police spokesman Sgt. Richard Lewis said Witherspoon "suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for medical treatment." She was discharged a short time later and spent the night at home recovering from the incident.

Lewis said the unidentified driver of the vehicle, who was driving 20 mph at the time, was interviewed at the location and released after getting a citation for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The driver has been ordered by the DMV to retake her driver's test. Police sources told TMZ that they have ordered the DMV to bring the driver in within the next 30 days for testing. Additionally, she must take an eye exam and provide a list of medications she's on, if any. She's already received a ticket in connection with the incident. Read more on MTV.COm

Actress Reese Witherspoon was treated in hospital in the US on Wednesday for minor injuries after she was involved in a traffic accident

Santa Monica police officer Richard Lewis says the Oscar-winning actress was hit by a car driven by an 84-year-old woman.

Witherspoon was jogging in an unmarked crosswalk in Santa Monica when the driver struck her at about 32km/h. The 35-year-old actress was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Witherspoon's representative told People.com that the actress was not seriously hurt and following her release from hospital, she was "resting comfortably at home".

Witherspoon is the mother of two children, Ava, 12, and Deacon, 8, from her marriage to Ryan Phillippe.

The couple were divorced in 2007 and she married Hollywood agent Jim Toth this year.

Meanwhile, she has revealed her difficulties with single motherhood in an interview with Marie Claire magazine.

She said she found the break-up of her first marriage "really traumatic" and was concerned about how the split would affect her young children.

"I was hard on myself when I got divorced," she told Marie Claire.

"And until I got remarried, I don't think I realised how stressed I was. I don't think I recognised how anxious I was about being a single parent."

But life with her new husband is much more relaxed, says the actress, with Toth proving a "wonderful" step-father to her children.

In her single days, Witherspoon feared she'd never partner who would love her children as well, the actress admitted.

"Somebody close to me once said, 'Oh no man will ever accept your children.' And I just thought it was the most horrifying thing someone has every said to me in my entire life," she said.

"Now I feel a great sense of relief and an incredible amount of support from my husband. I got very lucky and he's wonderful. And so wonderful with my children. I'm very blessed."

Witherspoon won the best actress Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter in the 2005 film Walk The Line.

Reese Witherspoon went on a rant against a certain breed of celebrity at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night.

Accepting a Generation Award from Water for Elephants costar Robert Pattinson, the recently re-married actress, 35, railed at celebs in the vein of Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and others.

"I get it, girls, that it's cool to be a bad girl," the squeaky-clean Oscar winner told the crowd.

"But it is possible to make it in Hollywood without doing a reality show," she added.

And, in a dig that seemed to aim at the career trajectories of Kardashian and Hilton, both 30, she sniped: "When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed."

Another Hollywood trend she's seen enough of? "And if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hide your face, people!" the mom of two cautioned. "Hide your face!"
