New Video: Lana Del Rey, 'Blue Jeans'

Evanescence Avoided 'The Classic Route' With 'What You Want' Video

Almost since the day she wrote it, Amy Lee has referred to Evanescence's "What You Want" as being "really different" from any song in the band's back catalog. So, when it came time to cook up a concept for the video, well, why would that change?

"We'd been working really fast, and we were still finishing the album and it was almost time to shoot the video, and I didn't have an idea, which is weird for me, I usually have a big vision right away," Lee laughed. "But the song is really different for us, so I knew that I didn't want to go the classic, sort of fantastic, epic [thing]. I mean it's still epic, but we didn't want to go the classic route — I wanted to do something different."

Lee actually invited her sister, Carrie, to the recording studio for a few fresh ideas. "She's a writer, so I was like, 'Would you just sit here with me and listen to the song a couple times and just tell me what you see?' " Lee recalled. "She just started saying things that were right on. She was like, 'This should be in New York. You guys need to do something different, this song feels different.' And she started talking about running across the Brooklyn Bridge, and it being where I live, and I was like, 'Oh my God, this is great.' " Keep Reading at MTV

Britney Spears: I'm not engaged

Britney Spears has denied she is getting married for a third time.

Katie Melua new album

Secret Symphony', the brand new album by Katie Melua, will be released on November 14th, 2011.

Katie Melua takes the stage in front of the Secret Symphony Orchestra, on this, her fifth album. Always happy to step away from people's expectations, Katie delivers a superbly crafted set of tracks interpreting songs drawn from a wide spectrum of songwriters including herself and Mike Batt.

"This album was going to be my 'singer's album' says Katie. I had always wanted to do this one day; singing other people's songs brings something out of you and your voice that isn't perhaps where you would have gone vocally with your own material. It stretches you. As it happened Mike and I did write a couple of new ones, but the general idea was to find songs by great writers such as Ron Sexsmith ('Gold In Them Hills') and a favourite song of mine, originally recorded by Bonnie Raitt ('Too Long At The Fair) plus some more well known ones like 'Keeping The Dream Alive'."

The result is a collaboration with orchestrator and conductor Batt that imbues the songs with a distinct personality that could only be the work of this creative team. The gorgeous 'Secret Symphony' album was recorded at Air Studios in London and represents a blend of musicianship and dedication that will delight existing Katie Melua fans and win her many new ones. Britney Spears' man 'shops for ring'

Jason Trawick is reportedly set to propose to Britney Spears after 'discussing diamonds' with a high-end jeweller.

Britney has been dating ex-manager Jason since spring of last year. It's previously been claimed the pair are ready to take the next step in their relationship, with Britney apparently keen to start a family with her partner.

Jason spent Monday afternoon at the Mouawad high-end jewellery showroom in Los Angeles.

According to X17Online Jason, 39, was spotted chatting with jeweller Pascal Mouawad at around 1pm.

The two spent around an hour talking about engagement rings for Britney, 29.

"They discussed diamonds from the Mouawad private collection. It's Jason's first visit with Pascal," the source told the website.

Britney has been married twice before. In 2004 she wed high school pal Jason Alexander in Las Vegas, but the marriage was annulled after 55 hours.

She married her backup dancer Kevin Federline in October 2004 but filed for divorce in August 2006 after giving birth to their two sons.

Recent reports suggest Britney is eager to tie the knot again.

'Britney's desperate to settle down again and have more children. But she is very traditional and didn't want to start a family with Jason until they'd tied the knot,' a source told British newspaper The Sun.(Music-News)

Madonna: Love requires compromise

Madonna feels 'lucky' in love, family and career, but admits that balancing obligations is difficult.

Madonna has an 11-year-old son, Rocco Ritchie, and a daughter, Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon, who will turn 15 in October. She is also in a committed relationship with dancer Brahim Zaibat.

Following the release of her most recent directorial endeavour, W.E., at the Venice Film Festival, Madonna is in high spirits about her life.

' have all three; love, children and work. Lucky me,' Madonna said to British newspaper the Daily Mail. 'You can [have all three] - but what you can't then expect is a good night's sleep.'

Madonna has worked at finding equilibrium in her life for years. Balancing relationships, children and career is a sensitive task for the star, but Madonna believes that she has discovered a foolproof approach.

'The older I get, the more I understand about the nature of relationships and how to have a successful one,' Madonna explained. 'The more I realise that it has to do with compromise and sacrifice and that's just the way it goes. And unless you want to be alone for the rest of your life you have to realise that.'

Madonna is not willing to forfeit happiness for any reason. Career, family and love are equally important to the star.

'Either the kids aren't going to be getting all your attention, or the man isn't or the job isn't and I can't contemplate living without all three,' Madonna said. ' can't imagine not having children. I can't imagine not being in love and I can't imagine not being creative and doing the work I do.'

Compromise works well for Madonna. She loves all three aspects of her life so much that she is willing to be flexible to keep her clan happy and career moving forward.

'You can't always get what you want, but compromise pays off in the end, right?' Madonna said. 'Give up a little bit here to see if you can get something there. It's about trade-offs and give and take.' Keep Reading at Music-News
