Sarah McLachlan Sings Tribute at Flight 93 Memorial Dedication Ceremony

Just a day before the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, Sarah McLachlan gave a touching tribute to those who lost their lives when hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 crashed to the ground in Shanksville, Penn.

Playing the piano in a somber black pantsuit, the Grammy winner sang "I Will Remember You" at the Flight 93 National Memorial dedication at the crash site.

Last week, McLachlan tweeted, "Honored to be performing at a dedication ceremony for the 9/11 memorial for Flight 93 in western Pennsylvania on Sept 10th."

Over 4,000 people, including Vice President Joe Biden and former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, were on hand for the dedication of the Memorial Plaza and Field of Honor, which surrounds the area where the flight went down in a rural field.

The hijackers, who intended to crash the plane in Washington, "never made it because of the determination and valor of the passengers and crew of Flight 93," John Jarvis, director of the National Park Service, said during the ceremony. "That plane crashed in this field, less than 20 minutes by air" from its target. "Each of them is an American hero."
