Surprise Outfit Post!

One Saturday Morning while I was fast asleep I heard my mother rummaging through my stuff. A little later she came in and said "I`am looking very smart today" I said "Hmmm" and went back to sleep.

When she came back from work I saw the "smartness"

and then I told her she`s going to be on my blog :) !

Cherry Culture Haul

The Cherry Culture gods have finally decided to smile upon me. Actually no, I paid $23 dollars to MAKE them smile upon me. ANYWAY. Here we go: )

Well Everything!

I was the MOST excited about the seven nailpolishes I got.
My Mother and I are always on the lookout for the perfect true red. So i bought two Haha : )

All my nailpolishes. I don`t think any on them is over $3.50

Love the matte one. I hope they start selling matte ones here!

I didn`t swatch the NYX Pomegrante and L.A Girls disoc CHIC because the true colour wasn`t coming in the pictures. The nyx one is a really hot pink which I LOVE and CHIC is a soft creamy pink.

Then I got three of these L.A Colors Baked Eyeshadows.

They are quite pigmented and yes there are a lot of gold-ey bronze-ey colours but my Mother wanted them and well, she`s paying for them Ha!

But seriously, they ARE great. Colour wise and also quality.

 Seems like this little fellow (purple) suffered some injuries while travelling all the way from California Thru Paris to New Delhi!

I have never liked GREEN as an eyeshadow colour but this one has such a nice gold sheen to it.

I love this coral lip gloss, it give an orangish tinge.

Jumping on the NUDE LIPSTICK bandwagon!

Also bought two eye pencils and the NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencil in MILK that Everyone has!
And a concealer by L.A Girl in NUDE and it is BRILLIANT

So that was that. I also went shopping at Forever 21 some weeks back and took pictures of everything but that camera went bust! So I have been using my mothers camera. I tried to re take all the forever 21 pictures but I think the ones on MY camera were better. I am not saying my mothers camera sucks ( cos I think I`ve said it one too many times to my mother, and she reads my blog! ) but I `am just going to wait for my camera to recover : )

And gossip girl returns today. YAY!

Raid Your Mothers Closet

I know usually girls my age, or girls old enough to go out alone rather love to shop with their friends. But I would much rather shop with my Mother. You see, going shopping with friends has a few drawbacks and I will tell you what they are.

First of all, I am a college student that means I have literally no money of my own. I do not earn any money through anything I do. Basically I am not very productive : ) so window shopping with girlfriends is fine but when it actually comes to spending I can`t buy more than  3 things. 

Now that I have the selfish reason of money out of the way, I shall tell you more (if you are getting bored of this ramble scroll down for the good stuff). 

With friends I am always hesitant that I`ll pick out something they wanted to buy and won`t cos I got it first etc. However one friend and I usually end up buying the same thing when shopping separately, which I find amazingly funny and love the fact that we have such a connection.

One more thing I like doing is Raiding My Mothers Closet. Specially since most trends these days are 80s or 90s revival. The skinny jeans that were Then famously called Drain Pipes : ) I have taken alot of her chunky sweaters to wear over leggings.  Actually I have taken alot of her leggings and stocking too : )

I doubt there is any girl who hasn`t picked up something or the other from their mothers collection or shares some of her pieces with her. But still, I would like to tell you that your mommy's closet is a great place to find some fabulous things. 

Not only do I borrow (more like take) clothes from my mother, lots of her friends give me their clothes too. Right now I have this awesome roundstooth jacket, given to me by my mothers friend waiting to be fitted for me.

These are not the exact things that she`s given me but yeah similar pieces have been stolen from her : )

And sometimes, just sometimes when you ask nicely or have been on your best behavior you might realize, That generation saw the rise of some of the biggest fashion houses of our time. Also there existed a time when flaunting brands wasn`t a hobby and not every reality star had the latest monogrammed handbag or dress. Well there was no reality TV at that time. So those who owned something 'designer' cherished that piece, because maybe that was the only 'designer' piece they had. And maybe that person was your mother.

My point is that sometimes our parents generation have the best designer items around.But they know that flaunting it like Paris Hilton is just going to devalue it. A Mont blanc pen. A Donna Karen Skirt. A burberry jacket.

I was very lucky to receive something like that from my mother on my birthday. 

So go ahead, snoop around and see what you find : ) It doesn't have to be designer or anything actually. Just the fact that you are wearing something 20 -30 years old which your mother once wore with panache makes it equally or even more special : )

Gossip Girl B/Witches Of Bushwick

Since Gossip Girl has been on air (bless that day) it has had many OMFG moments. First they advertised their bad reviews like so..

There have been plenty of shocking storylines, many drugs from marijuana to cocaine (remember Serenas big secret in season One where the guy overdosed and died?) pregnancies, ridiculous promiscuous behavior, deaths, divorces, threesomes etc. Nothing has shocked me yet or made me say Dude, that was Not cool.


But this weeks episode made me say the Exact thing. I am sorry but Juliet took it a little far with the whole drugging and apparently kidnapping Serena. First of all I think its ridiculous that Vanessa and Jenny are this whole team Brooklyn and want to show the other how it feels to be an outsider. I really do not get the whole concept.  The Four (S,B,C,N) grew up together and have a similar background. So what? They didn't ask for it did they? Why must they be attacked for being born and raised a certain way. Everyone has a background. Instead of being comfortable in it why must some people attack others. By doing so, Vanessa and Jenny making themselves apparent outsiders. Anyway I am getting a little ahead so I am going to rewind to the start.

The episode starts off with Eric and Elliot drawing stuff and Serena comes along and she instantly know its a Venn Diagram. I was nicely surprised to know that Serena knows what a Venn Diagram IS. The writers have stretched the whole Dan-Serena-Nate thing for way too long its getting very annoying. She hasn't been able to PICK one since the ending of last season.
Anyway, the Vanessa-Jenny-Juliet triangle has gone into complete bitch/psycho/need therapy mode. Juliet may possibly have a little crush on Jenny,she was falling all over her and her evil plans. She even proposed being a slave for her ( okay WORKING for her). When Jenny goes to Lily, telling her about Juliet, I saw a little hope for Jenny but alas the writers had tricked me and little J is still a bitch. Sigh.

I consider myself to be pretty 'tech savvy' but maybe not since I do not understand WHICH phone company allows for the existence of two SIM cards with the same number. One SIM card doesn't receive anything, just the outgoing works and the duplicate can receive and send. Wow. Need to suggest that to the Vodafone Puppy.


One realistic thing that happened in the episode and I can relate to was Lily being all Momma Bear on the dean. I know many mothers ( Hi! Mom!!) who will defend their child with all their instinct from any outsider but will give them hell for the same when the two of them are alone. And that is exactly what happened between super mom Lily and Serena.


 Also the dig Juliet made at Lily " Van der woodsen, Bass, Humpfrey, WHAT is her last name" was SO not cool. If I were Serena ( I WISH) Juilet would have a black eye right there and then!! 

Our beloved Chuck and Blair have a little problem. They both have people in their lives telling them to make changes (i.e stop seeing eachother) so they don`t ruin their image, you know for work and stuff. They still manage to help eachother out while indulging in their favourite pastime. And while talking about Balenciaga and Public condemnation Chuck utters those three lovely words.They both ignore it assuming that he did not mean it.

But the ever wise Dorota knocks some sense into Blair who quickly strips down to her nightie and goes to Chucks 'Sinners and Saints' Masquerade.

Meanwhile the awful three ( Juliet Jenny and Vanessa ) are playing around with Dan and Nate. (God those two are dumb) Gossip Girl has to play her part (the show IS named after her) and lets it slip ( yeah right ) that Serena is wearing a Carolina Herrera dress to the Masquerade. Now the writers are REALLY running out of ideas. Do you remember the last masquerade party where Jenny posed as Serena once again and Nate told her he loves her. Come On!

 Juliet puts the money she just received from her recent black mail from Lily to good use and buys two identical dresses, one for herself and Jenny. Both of whom are going to pose as Serena and screw with Dan and Nates head a little more. I dont know how that is possible since neither Juliet nor Jenny have the boobs or the messy bed hair of Serena. Also Juliet isn`t as BLONDE!

Desperately awaiting for the end of these three b...um witches

To sum it all up the two blonde idiots succeed and ruin Serenas relationship with Dan Nate and Blair. Blair and Chuck decide they WILL be together after all but Blair soon decides she needs to be her own person before she can be Chucks ( good for her! )
The best part is ofcourse that the ego between them has gone and they do in fact love each other.

The fashion of the episode was meh. Nothing significant AT ALL thus this very long recap. I didnt think any of the outfits were worth mentioning.


But tell me who do you prefer Serena with. Nate Dan or the latest tight dress she has on?
