The hot Brazilian model, Giselle Monteiro, made her debut in Bollywood as a simple Punjabi female in Love Aaj Kal. Her second film, Always Kabhi Kabhi failed to create much stirs at the box-office, but the girl has moved on. Sporting an Elizabeth Hurley swimsuit and Forever New jersey shorts, accessorized with tousled hair, the girl oozes oomph like never before. The issue also features an interview with Giselle where she talks about her life before films and how it has changed.(Bollywood-star)

Vasuki Sunkavalli out of Miss Universe race

India's dry run at the beauty pageant continues

India's dry run at the Miss Universe contest continued as Vasuki Sunkavalli failed to make it to the final 16 at the Miss Universe 2011 contest here.

Earlier, the 27-year-old was disappointed as she could not pose in her national costume because it was not delivered on time.

India hasn't won the crown since 2000. It was model-turned actress Lara Dutta who had won the crown for India in that year.

Prior to that, Sushmita Sen (who now handles the 'I Am She' franchise which selects India's entry to the Miss Universe contest) had won the Miss Universe title in 1994.

Minissha Lamba: "I refused to wear a bikini"

Minissha Lamba slams reports that she walked the ramp in one for 'Hum Tum Shabana'

Minissha Lamba has shot down reports that she walked the ramp in a bikini in her forthcoming comedy 'Hum Tum Shabana', saying there was such a scene in the script but she refused to do it.

"I put my foot down and didn't wear a bikini in the film. A scene was planned but I refused to do it," Minissha, who wore a bikini for her role in 'Kidnap', said.

Directed by Sagar Ballary, 'Hum Tum Shabana' is not a run-of-the-mill romantic comedy, says the actress, adding: "The impression that you have is that it's a story of two guys who are after a girl. It's typical of a romantic comedy. If you think that that's all there is in the film, then you have to think again."

The 26-year-old, who mader her debut with 'Yahaan' in 2005, is working with Ballary for the second time for 'Hum Tum Shabana' after 'Bheja Fry 2'.

The bikini scene notwithstanding, Minissha feels lucky to be part of the film as it is one of the rarest of comedies where the story revolves around a female character.

"Most comedies don't have much space for women. It's a very male dominated domain and most comedies are male oriented. In 'Hum Tum Shabana', I am lucky to get the title role and everything that happens is around or motivated by Shabana. So she is the central character in the film, which is very rare in a comedy.

"It has an equal dose of emotion, drama, and action and of course comedy. It's not a slapstick comedy I would say," she said

Releasing September 23, the film has Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor wooing Minissha.

Talking about her character, she said: "She is part of a beauty pageant. And she is the most unlikely contestant to be in a beauty pageant. She doesn't fit the criteria of someone who can be a model. She doesn't win the pageant, of course. The drama that happens after that is the high point of the film."

Friends turned foes, Shreyas and Tushhar, didn't let their personal differences affect the shooting of the film, Minissha added.

"If they had a problem between them, I did not know about it. Either there are no conflicts between them or they are just brilliant actors. See, everyone was professional on the sets. Even if they had personal differences, they are such thorough professional that they didn't let it affect their work," she added.

Minissha, who has starred in films like 'Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.' (2007), 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' (2008), and 'Well Done Abba!' (2009), will be seen next in the Akshay Kumar starrer 'Joker' and the hard-hitting action drama 'Zilla Ghaziabad'. Read More At Masala.com

Ash wants closure on 'Heroine'

Mrs Bachchan finally reacts to the stories that she's miffed about Kareena replacing her

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan definitely wants to get closure about her earlier involvement with Madhur Bhandarkar's film 'Heroine'. She returned the token amount she had been paid for the movie and, in addition, also sent a legal document to the producers not to use any material from the film shoot done with her for perpetuity on any platform.

Yet the 'Heroine' saga never seems to end. The actress feels that her name is being dragged into every story that is appearing on the film or otherwise and is being used to get publicity.

Aishwarya's spokesperson said, "This is just ridiculous that Aishwarya's name is still being used to publicize the film till date and also facts are being distorted. Certain section of the media recently carried stories on Aishwarya being miffed because of Kareena Kapoor stepping into the film after she backed out. Backed out??? When did this become 'backed out'? We would like to put this on the record for the final time. Necessary dates were given by my client as per schedules but the producers/director put a halt to the shooting preceding leaving it 'blurred' and 'vague' for a while whether the film was being 'stalled', 'delayed until resumed' or 'shut down'. Please note that this is far from the truth and everyone is aware of what the facts are and that she was removed due to a implied prejudice after learning about her pregnancy."

"What is the need for this to go on and on? Implied news and rumours should be ignored. No one has the right to speak on behalf of Aishwarya on what her reaction is when there hasn't been any. We have put an end to this chapter and would like to request the media also not to drag my client's name in this regard in future as well." Fo more Updates Check It out Masala.com

Kajal Agarwal's topless photo shoot

Kajal Agarwal is apparently upset that her picture on the cover of a glossy was photoshopped to make her appear nude

Kajal Agarwal's topless photo shoot for a men's magazine is turning out to be quite a slanging match between the actress and the mag folk.

The Singham star, who features in the latest issue, now claims that she did not pose topless for the cover. She alleges she was wearing a tube top that was photoshopped to make her appear nude by the glossy.

As reported 'Breast stroke forward' the actress had apparently shot a topless cover. A source close to Kajal says, "She did shoot for the cover picture wearing a tube top.

But the magazine folk photoshopped it and the top has gone missing.

After the shoot, Kajal made it clear that she would like to see the photos before publication. When she saw the snapshots she was not at all happy and told them not to publish it. But they still did."

Adds the source, "The magazine has also carried an interview with her, but she refused to give one after seeing the snapshots. But still they have attributed quotes to her and said she is on Twitter when she is not."

Blame games
According to Kabeer Sharma, executive editor, FHM India, "This accusation is shocking. It is unfortunate why she has chosen to deny a shoot that she was a willing party too.

She refused to the interview unless we dropped the picture. So we were left with no choice but to carry her profile instead."

Katrina Kaif to shake her legs on ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’ for Kollywood

The superhit ‘Dabangg’ is being remade in Tamil and reports have it that ‘Sheila’ of Bollywood may do the ‘Munni’ act for the Kollywood remake. The makers are reportedly signing Katrina for the Tamil version of the popular item song, Munni Badnaam Hui, and have allotted a handsome Rs 2.5 crore for it.

The original ‘Munni’, Malaika Arora Khan does not do any item song outside her home banner. Sp, the makers were on a lookout for someone who could aptly replace Malaika. Sonu Sood had earlier tweeted that hunt is on for Munni and had asked for suggestions as to who will be fit to do the Munni act in the film.

The producers of the film were keen on Bipasha Basu but since Katrina Kaif is a good friend of Sonu and is also currently not busy with any film, Sonu Sood is pushing for Katrina. The song is going to be choreographed by Saroj Khan.

Meanwhile, you check out Katrina Kaif on the covers of Elle.(Bollywood-Star)

Kareena can't stop raving about 'Bodyguard'

Bebo is on seventh heaven and she has good reason to be. The actress who's paired with Salman Khan for the third time despite their earlier duds (Main Aur Mrs Khanna and Kyon Ki) can't stop raving about Bodyguard.
She has finally proved the world wrong about being cast opposite the Dabangg star.

Apparently a lot of people told Kareena that she and Salman had little chemistry in their previous films and even TV commercials together, but now she feels that Bodyguard has changed the game for her.

Guard this Kareena, because we're not sure if piggybacking on the Khans is a long-lasting solution!

Simpleton to sexy siren: Vidya Balan goes ooh la la!

Forget the bespectacled Radhika of the "Hum Paanch" series, the demure Lalita of "Parineeta" or even the rustic Krishna of "Ishqiya"! An evolved Vidya Balan paints "The Dirty Picture" red with her killer pout, sultry dance, deep cleavage and her bold stance, leaving you sighing and singing "Ooh la la! Ooh la la".

When producer Ekta Kapoor told IANS "I would be surprised if I don't get unbelievable critical acclaim for 'Dirty Picture' and a national award for my actress, Vidya Balan", she sure didn't mean it for nothing.

"The Dirty Picture" trailer resonates her promise with aplomb.

The story of southern sex siren Silk Smitha -- her rise as a glamour girl thanks to her bold and semi-nude roles in movies, and her gradual fall owing to new entrants in the market, her financial crisis and personal problems -- "The Dirty Picture" is set to have Vidya at her glamorous, boldest and sultry best.

If the first poster of the film, with Vidya showing off her cleavage in an itsy bitsy red blouse, didn't spell fire, the one minute 30-second trailer sure makes you go "Ooh la la" - in tune with disco king Bappi Lahiri's spicy rendition of a song which says "Tu hai meri fantasy...".

The Munnis and the Sheilas of Bollywood can take a backseat for a while because the 33-year-old Vidya, even with her not so washboard abs, might just become every man's fantasy with her titillating moves, curvaceous frame, playfulness, and sensuous ways in her scenes with Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Bollywood's very own serial kisser Emraan Hashmi.

With its into-the-face dialogues, the trailer itself might leave many gasping like Tusshar when Vidya says: "Mujhe jo chahiye uska mazza raat ko hee aata hai" and many ogling like Naseer does when she decks up for a film shoot.

Perhaps what the trailer misses is the dark side of Silk Smitha's story, which the film is expected to highlight. But it does its job and it does it well.

It's been just six years since Vidya made her Bollywood debut with "Parineeta", but in the short period, the actress showed her fearless streak by roles that are as different as chalk and cheese like "Ishqiya" and "Paa".

Her choice of unconventional scripts with experimental roles that challenge the actor in her has continued to set an example of what it takes to strike the right balance between commercial and parallel cinema.

If it was a lonely lover in her first movie, Bengali project "Bhalo Theko", Vidya went on to show her subtle and romantic side in "Parineeta". In "Lage Raho Munnabhai", she was seen in a conventional role, but she played it unconventionally.

Her performance in "Guru" as a multiple sclerosis patient may have been short, but it didn't go unnoticed. Her films "Salaam-e-Ishq", "Heyy Babyy" and "Kismat Konnection" may not have done much to boost her film career, but Vidya remained dauntless.

She broke all doubts about her dancing skills through her performance on the song "Ami je tomar" in "Bhool Bhulaiyaa".

For a brief period, her choice of dresses was talk of the town and was much criticised, but Vidya kept to her work and when she returned as single mother in "Paa", her high-voltage performance shut the wagging tongues.

"Ishqiya" further strengthened filmmakers' belief in her versatility and capacity as an actor. In Abhishek Chaubey's film, Vidya convincingly played a conniving and manipulative woman who doesn't shy away from using her sexuality to fulfil her goals.

And then "No One Killed Jessica" saw her in a completely different avatar. Based on the real-life Jessica Lall murder case, the movie saw her as a grieving sister who runs from pillar to post to get justice for her sister.

After entertaining viewers with her plain Jane look, Vidya has now picked up a contrasting role in "The Dirty Picture". She oozes oomph like never before and one wonders if the movie will be Vidya's next stepping stone to her ever-rising success story.

Directed by Milan Luthria, the film will release Dec 2, which is Silk Smitha's birth anniversary.(Mid-day.com)

'Bodyguard' Sets Bollywood Box Office Record

Reliance Entertainment release nets highest opening day collection at over $4.5 million.

NEW DELHI – Bodyguard, starring superstar Salman Khan and actress Kareena Kapoor, has set a box office record netting the highest opening day take ever crossing 200 million rupees ($4.5 million).

A remake of a hit south Indian film directed by Siddique, the action-romantic caper was specially released on Wednesday timed with the festive Eid holiday extending into a long weekend.

With an estimated budget of 600 million, Bodyguard has been produced by Reel Life (a banner owned by Khan's brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri) with the film acquired by Reliance, which released it with 2,600 prints in India and another 325 in overseas markets.

Bodyguard further reinforces Khan's position as a top box-office draw following his 2010 release Dabangg, which collected 145 million rupees on its opening day. India's most commercially succcesful film so far, 2009's 3 Idiots starring superstar Aamir Khan (which went on to gross $100 million worldwide) took in 130 million rupees on its opening day, a figure matched by Salman Khan's earlier release this year, Ready.

Given its strong opening, Bodyguard is expected to match the first-week take of 3 Idiots (800 million rupees) and Dabangg (810 million rupees) with overseas diaspora audiences also contributing to the film's worldwide take.

The son of veteran scriptwriter Saleem Khan, the 45-year-old Khan is currently in the U.S. for medical treatment for a nerve disorder. With a career spanning over two decades, Khan's upcoming releases include Ek Tha Tiger (Once There Was A Tiger) in which he co-stars with top actress Katrina Kaif.(HOLLYWOOD REPORTER)

Celina Jaitley marries partner Peter Haag in Austria

Celina Jaitley has announced that she got married last week.

The Bollywood actor told her Twitter followers that she wed partner Peter Haag in a private ceremony in Europe.

Jaitley posted: "With great pleasure I would like to announce my wedding with @peterhaag on the 23rd of last month at a thousand year old monastery in Austria.

"We seek your blessings and good wishes, and apologise for the delayed announcement due to a family tragedy."

The star also shared images from the ceremony, which saw Jaitley wearing a floral sari and holding a bouquet of red roses.

The performer recently denied reports that she was a lesbian, following her high-profile support of the gay rights movement in India.

Jaitley was rumoured to have secretly married her hotelier boyfriend at a ceremony in Dubai last year.

The model-turned-actor, whose image has been compared to US singer Katy Perry, was last seen in 2011 ensemble comedy Thank You.

Kangana Ranaut in a bikini for ‘Rascals’

Kangana Ranaut is known for her bold image in the film industry but this will be the first time that the actress will be seen in a bikini in her forthcoming flick ‘Rascals’ which stars Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Chunky Pandey, and Satish Kaushik along with the actress. The film has been produced by Sanjay Ahluwalia, Sanjay Dutt, and Vinay Choksey and directed by David Dhawan.

Talking about her experience while shooting in a bikini, Kangana Said “I’m a city girl now, so it wasn’t a shocking concept for me. I might wear a bikini if I go for a swim, but it does feel odd wearing close to nothing on a shoot — that too with the whole unit around, fully clothed! It makes you conscious.”(Bollywood-star)

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan issues legal notice to UTV

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has reportedly issued a legal notice to Madhur Bhandarkar and UTV prohibiting the use of the footage and stills she shot for Heroine earlier this year.

The actress was dropped from the film after announcing her pregnancy, since director Madhur Bhandarkar felt it would be too difficult for her to continue with the demanding shoot.

A source told IANS: "Ash is fed up of the whole thing. She's been ethical and professional about the matter. But, considering the way things ended on a sour note with Bhandarkar, she does not want him to use any of the stills or scenes that she had already shot at any point in the future."

The Guzaarish star also recently returned the fee paid to her by UTV.

"We never asked for the money but we did receive a cheque of Rs 22.5 lakh (£30,000)," a UTV representative said.

Rai Bachchan's spokesperson said: "It was just a token amount that she had got from UTV. She thought it was fair to return it, even though they insisted that she should keep it, considering she had shot for so many days."

A source close to Bhandarkar said the director appreciated Rai Bachchan's gesture.

"It was a professional move. The eight days that Aishwarya shot the film cost a lot of money and there were big losses incurred after the film was stalled," he said.

Kareena Kapoor has confirmed that she will take over from Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and is reportedly charging a record amount for rescuing the film.(Digital Spy)
