+FACE+

Tonight OMFG will present to you a project from one of Georgia's finest musicians.  Jay Kellom started +FACE+ some five years ago and ever since has been captivating the underground indie scene.  Being an avid punk rocker, and member in the Athens based bands Guff and Karbomb, Jay created +FACE+ to not only reach out to a difference audience, but to express a deeper side of himself.  Focusing on everyday life challenges and relationships,  Jay's "voice" is one that any average Joe can relate to.  +FACE+ is inspired by groups like  Tegan and Sara, City and Colour, and The Smiths.  The soft melodies and heartfelt lyrics combined with a rhythm section including an upright bass accentuates Jay's message.  "Face the Fireflies", the debut EP from +FACE+, is an emotional journey of love, heartbreak, victory, defeat, perseverance, and a must have for indie fans.

"I won't repeat a thing" she said.  She softly muttered with no hesitation.  "Whats mine is yours and yours alone and that's all." -Lyrics from "She Can't Repeat."

Currently teaming up with Jay, is Jon Brown on guitar and backing vocals.  Future plans include writing and recording as much as possible along with traveling outside of Georgia.

You can check out some songs from +FACE+'s first release titled "Face the Fireflies," and merch here.

Stay tuned to OMFG for future updates about +FACE+ and Jay's other projects.

Toll Tunnel Under East Atlanta Proposed By DOT

An idea for a new toll tunnel connecting GA 400 to I-675 was proposed by the DOT to private investors at a conference last week.  The tunnel would have an access point towards the downtown area but would eventually be a surface road closer to the south of the city towards I-675.  Although this is only a pitched idea, local communities are standing up and speaking out against it.  You can check out the full story here.
