An awesome new release from the DivKid duo. Aptly named, Drop Kick is a heavy electro progressive banger. The original track is badass alone, but with this menacing remix package; David Menezes' pounding electro remix, Deep Infect's almost balearic sounding tech-house remix, Dom Kane's dark euro-trance electro remix, and Grubby's hypnoticly sick dubstep remix... I highly reccomend picking this up!
After a slew of remixes coming down the line, the DivKid machine has delivered a nice remix EP of their latest track 'Pile Driver". The original track is probably my favorite on this package simply because it feels like it just fills the room once it builds into the full body of the song. I'd probably file this under progressive before I'd put it in my electro crate, but it does have some electro elements. Backed up with 4 solid remixes from Bonn Lewis, Paul Lewis, Quantum Loop, and Dom Kane all mostly on that progressive side as well, but each with their own twist (Paul Lewis' 'Dark' mix brings a very minimal, eerie sound that you gotta check out). Check them out on the player here and then go pick up your faves from any one of the links below:

It's quite obvious we're getting deadmau5 fever here at OMFGAtlanta. The new album hits stores on Tuesday 12/7. We have an awesome prize package we're giving away to one very lucky winner, stay tuned for details!!!
DivKid take their skills to a classic. This is a solid remix. I really like the wonky bassline they dropped in there. Otherwise it's an easy song to remix and that's why most of them sound the same, but DivKid makes a quality rework here with a slightly darker progressive sound. The video isn't their best overall, but the dancing skeletons and the skeleton DJ made me smile.
There was a long period during my DJ self-schooling that I was really big into progressive. So when I get a quality prog track in the OMFG inbox... you know I've gotta share it with you. Luckily this track came out today on beatport, so go getchu some!
This is the second release from Playout! Music that I've put up here on OMFG. The Harvey remix is the main reason I like this release. The original track is very good, don't get me wrong. But that almost minimal progressive sound that Harvey injects into his remix is the main reason I've been digging on Playout! The original track from Admiral Freebee is a blues infused rock anthem and there are lots of other genres heard throughout the new album "The Honey and The Knife". The artwok is by Ed Templeton of Toy Machine Skateboard Co.
Raw german electro rock meets epic progressive electro club sound. This collaboration is brilliant. I've also got the Kezokichi remix here which is more on the darker techno side.
I am really enjoying listening to this guy evolve. This time Pitch Twit gives us something with a lot of soul. Electro, techno, but underneath it's a progressive freight train. This track will go over huge with the UK progressive/ prog house DJs. Keep watching this guy, keeps getting better with every production.
Flippin HUGE! Just dropped today! Lovin this thing we got right here... Sander Kleinenberg, an incredible DJ and producer (if you haven't listened to his 'This is' CDs including 'This Is Everybody', I highly suggest you go back and indulge) is teasing us with yearly releases from his upcoming album '5K', due to release this summer. Apparently last year he released the track 'This Is Our Night' and I completely missed it! So now I'm making up for it by sharing with you all, the next hottest thing... 'R.Y.A.N.L.' Again, this is the 128kbps, buy yourself a copy on beatport.
OMGOMGOMG... and I just figured out that Sander is playing Opera tonite! Straight out of playing two festivals @ WMC!!! Gaaahhhh!

For music that truly touches the soul, look no further than Massive Attack. I've been a huge fan of thier music since Mezzazine came out in '98. Daddy G and 3D, or Grant and Robert, have survived many incarnations of the group, losing one of the orginal members, Andy Voweles, and working with many artists and vocalists on past and present releases. Thier last album 'Heligoland' features: "Horace Andy plus the following invited vocalists: Tunde Adebimpe of TV On The Radio, Damon Albarn of Gorillaz, Hope Sandoval of Hope Sandoval And The Warm Inventions and Mazzy Star, Guy Garvey of Elbow and Martina Topley-Bird, as well as guitar playing by Adrian Utley of Portishead (on "Saturday Come Slow"), keys from Portishead collaborator John Baggott (most notably on "Atlas Air"), keys and synth bass from Damon Albarn ("Splitting the Atom" and "Flat of the Blade" respectively), bass by Neil Davidge ("Girl I Love You") and bass by Billy Fuller of Beak on various tracks." I know Mark is a huge Calvin fan. Thanks to Dani @ dsquared for posting this one up! She's been getting Kue's tracks and posting them up for a while and I totally agree that he is getting better with each production. A great track to start your Friday with!
When I read that on March 15th, Deconstruction is releasing an EP of 'The Gift' by Way Out West 2010 remixes, I had to start pulling out the vinyl. I found my original 1996 release of 'The Gift' and of course couldn't stop there. Anyone wanna do an old skool progressive party?
"Kicking off the package is Way Out West’s own 2010 remix. Toughening up the original break based drums and adding a few new synth lines is all WOW needed to do to breath a second life in their ubiquitous track.
Gui Boratto’s remix takes the track into deep tech house territory. Gui flips the track to a straight 4/4 beat, adding some organic percussion, side chained chords and his trademark warm distorted synths to create a truly euphoric groove.
Coming straight off the back of his to 2 remixes for the mighty deadmau5 (his last being Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune) Michael Woods aims straight for the main room. Stabbing synths, rolling bass lines and a huge breakdown guarantee hands will most definitely be head for the air.
Hospital Records current golden boy Logistics turns out a liquid D’n’B roller, perfectly juxtaposing narly modulating bass and clattering drums with the beautiful pads and chords of the original.
Finally to round off the package, new comers Tek-One give us a Dubstep version with a difference, using circuit bent toys to make their basslines and synth sounds, they create something completely unique to them.
Killer remixes for every genre, but what else would you expect from Decon?"(source: risingdigital.co.uk)
Seems Way Out West is definitely gearing up for a lot of touring and press with thier newest album We Love Machine. 12 tracks of quality progressive production from a pair of veterans in the electronica scene. Nick and Jody have even been nice enough to give away a freebie right on the website! Go download Sparkle for free!
Two really good versions of Miike Snow's 'Silvia' just recently dropped on the blogs. Sinden (who's name you probably recognize from that HUGE 'Beeper' track last year) gives us a great atmospheric, yet almost tribal remix that definitely keeps a lot of the soul of the original.

The other I'm afraid I can't host for you guys because it doesn't even have a release date yet! But our buddy Vicky has graced us with a lil sample to get your taste buds wet. Sebastian Ingrosso has been owning dancefloors across Europe for the past few years with his big room club sound and this collaboration with Dirty South's slightly more electro big room sound is sure to blow up big time!
