Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar said that the president had just completed his visit of flood hit areas in Sindh and apprised the United Nations Secretary General of the huge devastation caused by the floods and the untold misery it had heaped on the people.
He said that the damage to crops, particularly to cotton, has been colossal.
The president called for an urgent appeal for international humanitarian assistance by the UN.
