Fireflies in the Garden, a family drama that features Julia Roberts, is finally making its way to U.S. theaters. Written and directed by debut filmmaker Dennis Lee, the film was caught up in the financial struggles of production company Senator Entertainment that began after the Sundance Film Festival in 2009.
The film's producers, including Marco Weber, Vanessa Coifman, Sukee Chew and Philip Rose, have recently regained the rights and plan to release a brand new cut themselves in theaters in L.A., New York, Chicago and San Francisco October 14. New E1 theatrical marketing and distribution executive Dylan Wiley will serve as a consultant on the release, though the film is not an E1 project. Read more on Hollywood Reporter
