Jessie J hobbled onto the MTV Video Music Awards stage in Los Angeles on Sunday night (28Aug11) with her left foot in a bling cast.
The British pop star had to pull out of a series of summer dates after breaking her ankle 11 weeks ago, but nothing was going to keep her from the big awards show.
Supported by crutches, the injured singer said, "I got the offer to come here and I thought, 'You know what, I'm not gonna sit at home feeling sorry for myself, I'm gonna get on a plane and cover my boot in Swarovski crystals and sing my a** off.'" Jessie J, the house act at the prizegiving, felt she was doing her bit to represent the U.K. by showing up at the Vmas - and she wanted to be there for Adele's big night.

She added, "I'm looking forward to see Adele especially, a good school friend of mine. I'm so proud".
Jessie J performed a medley of tunes including a cover of Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun throughout the ceremony, seated on a huge white throne.
