Conti Couture
[My post title is courtesy Mehak from Peaches&Blushes who came up with it when I complained of not liking the word CONTI over twitter, and my sub heading is courtesy my verrryyyy good friend, Saali Khushi. So due credit to them and none to me for my KAAM CHORI!]So I am not going to bore you with the clichéd college is ending 'oh-my-godsss' and I will get right down to the good stuff.

Sit,I shall tell you a story.
I was walking trekking through Sarojini Nagar looking for this shop called KINS ( I`ve talked about this in my Sarojini Nagar Shopping post) and I say I am trekking because that day the entire Sarojini was dug up cos they were laying CCTV cables. So there is basically nowhere to you can normally walk. There are just large chunks of what used to be a path lying around everywhere. I suddenly saw this amazing pink coral dress hanging in front of a random shop. I asked the guy if there is any other color available (this is something I ALWAYS do, ask for all the colors of anything I want so I can choose the one I like the best) he says no. I believe him cos I actually couldn't see anything else in his little shop which resembled this.
He said 300. My mother walked away. Then he said "okay 200"

The tag says Lipsy London. I went to their site to so I could actually see how much this really was for.
Although I couldn`t place this particular dress, most of their dresses are for 55 Pounds.Which is QUITE alot.
Moral of the story? Shop At Sarojini.

If you rewind back to about 4 years ago, I remember how there were such few shops you could go to to buy dresses. It used to be so damn hard to find a dress you actually liked. I remember only finding them in Benetton or places like Westside. Westside seldom had any and Benetton didn`t have a large variety.
For one of my school contis this girl and I picked up the same dress. It was very annoying because I had bought it a good 5-6 months before her. Anyway, looking back it was a petty thing (come on though, you know my annoyance was justified!!) and I bet this girl doesn't even WANT to wear dresses anymore. Why I am saying all this is because with the sudden entry of high street labels such as Mango, Promod, Zara , Forever 21 there is no dearth of dresses and no one can actually say there is no choice or variety. We are actually spoilt for choice now. I bet even with these many choices people end up wearing the same dress to a party but I doubt that that feeling of desperation is still there which at least we used to have when we were in school.
Anyway so that random rant ends there.
