5 Ways to Beat the Heat in Atlanta

Photobucket
Hello! My name is Natalie, people call me Nat. I am the newest contributor to this blog. I was excited when Steph and Mark asked me to join simply because I enjoy sharing new things with people! Especially new restaurants, bars, shows and events! I’ve worked in the Restaurant Industry for about 9 years now and I’ve met so many cool people from town to town! I think that’s why Steph asked me to join...so I will be coming at ya’ll with hopefully some new fun restaurants and bars to try!

I’ve come up with my first blog so I hope you enjoy!

This Margarita was demmed “the most balanced, sophisticated Margarita in Atlanta” by Atlanta Magazine.
This limey concoction is made with agave nectar, orange liqueur, and house-made citrus sour mix, and Partida Blanco.

Not only is this drink yummy but the restaurants decor is adorable and patio seating with TV’s is availble.

4. Fro-yo at Yoforia
1402 N. Highland in the Morningside Neighborhood
www.yoforia.com
Open most days til 11pm.

Photobucket

Yoforia is different than most frozen yogurts, it is nonfat and made with organic milk and organic yogurt, and is only 25 calories per ounce!
The flavors offered are unique and fun, such as Original, Green Tea, Pomegranate, Mango, Blueberry and Dark Chocolate.
(I’ve personally sampled all flavors, I can’t help it I work across the street from it, but my fav is the original or green tea).

What makes this yogurt even more fun is the toppings. You can turn your fro yo into a sweet treat or a healthy breakfast or lunch. The toppings range from fresh seasonal fruits, granola, coconut, mochi (my fav), almonds, walnuts - - too oreos, reeses puffs, chocolate chips, cap’n crunch, fruity pebbles, the list goes on.

Next time your up for a sweet but healthier treat to beat the heat, stop into Yoforia. Other locations at Perimeter Mall and Windward Parkway.

5. N2 Milkshakes at FLIP Burger Boutique
1587 Howell Mill Rd or flipburgerboutique.com

Photobucket

Bring a few friends with you to this trendy new hot spot, your gonna want to try more than one flavor of these liquid nitrogen milkshakes!!

These milkshakes were created by chef Richard Blais, and includes flavors such as Nutella & burnt marshmallow, Krispy Kreme(yes the doughnuts), spicy chocolate mole, foie gras, white truffle pistachio, bacon and maple available with or without bourbon, and the one I really want to try most the Patron Tequila and caramel swirl. Sounds odd, but all are concocted to blend and taste very well!

These milkshakes are served frosty and frothy with wisps of liquid nitrogen on top to give it a cool visual aspect.
While you are there try a Flip burger and fries! The variety of burgers is incredible, ranging from corned beef, kobe, tuna, turkey, shrimp, a fun veggie burger made with chickpeas and also a regular bacon cheese burger. Be different and skip the fries for vodka battered onion rings or sweet potato tots!! All Prices range from $6 to $9 for a Burger or Milkshake. Special combos are available during lunch! Beer, wine and Margaritas are available as well! Go see what all the talk is about!

Hope you enjoyed and will try these fun ways to Beat the Heat in ATL, lastly I think we all know one way to beat the heat that has been around for years and years in Atlanta....there’s nothing like a Frosted Orange(FO) from the Varsity on a Hot Atlanta day and I think we all know where the Varsity is.... ;-)
