Buzz In Town

A little off topic but.....

tomorrow is the last day for the Commonwealth Games. I don`t know if there are any events on the closing day (14th)
I dont know about you but I`am quite sad. yes i know the whole thing was plagued by months and months of controversies and yes there have been glitches in these two weeks. I am not an expert to comment on this but personally I really like the way the city is looking. If you go towards central Delhi and explore a little its so nicely lit up and organized. The few times I have traveled that side I absolutely loved it and didnt really face any traffic problems. There is this buzz, a certain energy you get to experience. You know something big is happening in your city. It`s like diwali but for two weeks and all the important buildings and monuments are lit up. From The National Museum Of Modern Art to every metro station. Go to Connaught Place and look how radiant it looks. After complaining about parking and the roads being dug up I quite like the end result. When I would hear people whining about how they have ruined CP and it`s so hard to go there with all the construction I would get a little ticked off. I wanted to to explain to them that when they are making an effort to improve something we will obviously have to deal with the process. It cant go from one condition to an entirely new one in a day. Obviously there will be construction and there will be a little chaos for some time. Yes i know that they have renovated the front of CP and not the back. Which I agree sucks. But have you noticed the giant TV screens installed in CP and the crowds watching the events? And the loud cheer when India wins? Can you feel the togetherness and the energy.
Janpath Lit Up

Call me weird but I love the way the games buses along with their security cars rush past you in their designated games lane. I am sorry this is weird but I love order and organization.

Yes it is despicable the amount of money thats been wasted.I `am sure no Delhite is going to forget that but I am really glad that there is an effortless energy and unity in the city. I am happy no one 'boycotted' the games like they were told to by many media personalities. Just because you are happy about an event happening in your city and support it doesn't mean you forget the negative points about it. But it also should`nt stop you from seeing the positive in it.

I am sad that its ending. I don`t want the little buzz in the city to go away. I know it eventually will. But I really hope the organization and order of the city doesn`t.

As for me, I am going to soak up the last day :)
